Doulos Hope

We are here!!!!!!

The last time I visited a Doulos felt like more than 10 years ago in KK. That time, Doulos had a double deck bookstore with wooden planked floors.
This Doulos is the smallest most kecikiest most unimpressive bookstore of all my visits. Can you believe I drove all the way through horrible Klang roads just to see a half deck bookstore? One glance and that’s it! So disappointing.

Parking

Port Klang Cruise Terminal

RM2 per pax.
I didn’t even know senior citizens are free!
They did not say a word. How rude LOLOLOL

NOOOOOO, that giant behind me is NOT Doulos!
It’s a cruise ship.

That little ship in front of the giant is Doulos

Indigenous Rhythms Festival 2025

Berjaya Times Square KL

I learnt something in this event. Only this weekend I realized that the natives of Sabah & Sarawak are called Orang Asal (original people). I have never heard of that term when I was growing up in Sabah.

This is the 2nd edition of this festival. Started last year. Could be a bigger festival in the future is they can encourage more Orang Asli tribes to participate. We have 18 tribes in Peninsular Malaysia. 28 tribes in Sarawak and 39 in Sabah. We truly have a huge indigenous community in Malaysia.

Ronnie Bahari & Son

Pensol (Nose Flute) by Ronnie Bahari

I was happiest today as I met Ronnie and his son. I am a big fan of Ronnie’s expertise in playing the nose flute and his awesome photography. His photography centers around portraits of the Orang Asli community, usually taken in a natural setting ~ our forests.

Ronnie is from the Temuan- Semai tribe, Ipoh Perak. He is also the Persatuan Kebudayaan Dan Kesenian Orang Asal Perak (PKKOAP) chairperson where he works to strengthen the exposure and knowledge of the Orang Asli culture of West Malaysia. Their language, history and art are fascinating and should be more esteemed and respected.

 LUHIEW RENAWEIJ

In the Semai language,
‘Luhiew’ means the enchanted bamboo symbolizing beauty.
‘Renaweij’ means the graceful sway of traditional movement.

This Orang Asli Semai music group was founded by Ronnie Bahari. The awesome singer is Ndang Seliman from Kampung Tembok Hangat, Perak. She writes her own songs in the Semai language and proudly sings to elevate the Semai cultural heritage to the world.

Christmas @ Sunway Pyramid

Sunway Pyramid
This year it is cute fluffy Christmas decoration here. Different but I think it is attractive.
The fluffy green Christmas tree in the middle, when I stood at the foot and looked up, reminded me of the BEANSTALK!!!

SSFHOME Garden Outlet @ Glenmarie

I was only yesterday years old baru I knew that SSF has a HQ in Shah Alam. Adoiiiii. So ignorant.
Saw people posted in TT and after wah wah wah-ing, we went to explore lah.
Wahhhh the entrance was so grand. Macam enter White House. Its warehouse is at the back, also very neatly arranged and nice to walk around. Outside, there’s a huge clearance sale for furniture.

Kapten Batik Warehouse Sale

3 - 7 December 2025
KLCC

This was the craziest warehouse sale we have been to. As we love batik, we went just to look see. Kapten Batik has boutiques everywhere and their prices are pretty expensive but their quality is good.

The crowd was horrendous on a working day. There was a line at the entrance and a line at the pay counters. Surprising thing was many foreigners and corporate people were there shopping, in bundles and bags!!! WOW!

Hehe we were in one of Kapten Batik’s video clips! This was the first day but OMAIGADDDD it was already crazy. You should check out their updated video clips in FB, the place has become just like a bundle warehouse!!!!!! At least my photos still showed that the shirts were still nearly folded LOL.

Good thing was… although the majority was men’s shirts, there’s still some shorts, ladies’ blouses, bags, batik material and clothes for the kids.

Hubs very happy!
