Funny story here at Ikan Bakar Borneo.
I always am triggered when I see the name Borneo here in this part of the country.
I asked the 1st girl whether she was from Borneo. Nope, she’s from Cameron. 2nd girl came out and said she’s from KK. Good!
Asked whether the boss is from Borneo and the girls said no, he’s only friends with Borneo people.
So why choose the name Borneo?
Their menu is certainly not Borneon dishes.
Maybe the fish for ikan bakar comes from Borneo!!!
Dinner at The Brew House
22 May 2025 ~ 7.03AM
Walked out of the hotel to get some early bfast. Hotel bfast only starts at 8AM.
1st breakfast!!!
Hotel bfast was at 8AM. Bit too late for me!
Off to Mossy Forest, but stopped along Sungai Palas Tea Farm to take photos!
Dragon or Garlic Chives farm
More veggies
Giant “Bao Choi”
We are here!
2nd visit since 2018
Soooo cantik already the welcoming station. There’s a deck too overlooking hills when weather is good.
I was upset seeing this. I did not do my research therefore did not know about this elevated walkway AT ALL until our driver mentioned it. My heart sank. WHAT? Now we are just like another tourist, spoilt and entitled.
I know the walkway was built mainly (my guess) to protect the moss; the forest. Idiots love to touch and hold the moss. The moss grows on tree branches and when one needs to cling on to a branch, they would not think twice to grab hold of a tree branch. ALTHOUGH with the walkway where one can walk steadily and not on wet soil, they STILLLLLLLL touch some moss near to the walkway.
You see, moss will die when they get touch frequently. And parts of a beautiful moss covered branch is bald. BOTAK!
Makes me angry to see these bald patches.
View from Sungai Palas Tea Farm. On our way down, we stopped by the tea cafe to have a bite.
Nasi lemak ayam rendang
Strawberry Shortcake
Later in the afternoon, we went to Agro Market to lepak and have coffee. It was raining already.
White Bittergourd
The funny thing about all sellers there, the first thing they would quickly tell you that this species is less bitter.
Roflol, not what I want to hear at all.
Bittergourd that’s less and not bitter is not bittergourd!
From left:
Jagung Susu ~ sweetest in the world!!!
Jagung Madu Musang King ~ no durian smell or taste. maybe it’s because of its rich yellow color.
Jagung Pulut ~ purple, attractive and tasted a bit lemak
