Bagan Hailam

Bagan Hailam ~ Hainanese Village

Believed to have been set up by Hainanese immigrants in the 1900s. This water village sure looked run down and horribly, there’s rubbish everywhere. I was astonished to have discovered a village by the Klang river in the north of Klang. With, seafood restaurants still in operation. So, gotta go see for myself!

It was surprising to see so many cars at the parking space in front of this temple; the entrance to Bagan Hailam Village.

Very small village. Takes about 30 mins to walk around and have a drink. The villagers spend their time drinking coffee and chatting, or play mahjong at the association. There’s no tuck shop around. I was expecting some may sell anchovies or dried prawns but nope!

Tanjung Harapan beach front is about 10 mins away. It is a long stretch of waterfront. I drove by but didn’t go down. Too crowded.

There’s these banners all over the village, which was hilarious to me. No smell though!
