Maritime Museum

Maritime Museum, Poulsbo

Showcases rich maritime history of Poulsbo and North Kitsap. The exhibitions were neatly displayed inside and outside the small museum. They have very passionate, dedicated and friendly staff here. They would happily tell you stories about ships and transportation and even fishing if you ask them. Admission if free!

I learnt that Poulsbo was originally Paulsbo; meaning Paul's place.

Poulsbo was founded in the 1880s by Jorgen Eliason from Norway. Later, more Norwegian and other Scandinavian immigrants joined the community in Poulsbo. There were activities of logging, fishing and farming here. Primary travel method was by water in those days.

Bluebells

Lichen

A combination of fungus and algae.
I think these are California Spanish Moss or Fruticose Lichen.
They look like soft coral-like shrubs sitting on dead or dry tree branches.
Pretty, really!
