Fortune Dragon

Yong Peng
14 July 2018

We visited this beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful Fortune Dragon statue in a park. Located at Yong Peng, Johor, this dragon is actually an art museum of Chinese history. Standing at about 350 feet, it is currently in the Malaysia Book of Records as the biggest dragon tunnel in Malaysia. Che Ann Khor temple sits right in front of the dragon which clearly signifies prosperity.

Visitors are not allowed to take photos inside the air-conditioned dragon, however, this is the order of paintings when you start walking into the dragon's mouth.

First series of painting: Filial duties of sons and daughters of China; how they protected, served and honored their parents in the olden days.

Second series of paintings: The 10 Chambers of Hell

Then you exit from the dragon's behind!!!!!!

Entrance fee is RM25. Yes, expensive. But, there are impressive art work to be enjoyed and lessons to be reminded or learnt from the paintings.

Sak Dato Temple - Giant Sun Wukong

Breath-taking view, isn't it?

We visited Sak Dato Temple in Broga on 1 July 2018. Parked our car at the parking lot and this was the first 'picture' we saw. WOW!

See the Monkey King right at the top of the hill?

Sak Dato Temple is a 140 year old Taoist temple and it is MOST famous for people coming here, praying for 4D numbers! People have actually been winning and they come back to give donations to the temple. I am just fascinated with the architecture and the climb! Phew...what a climb. The climb up to the temple was nice and there is a garden on the temple grounds for people to sit around and enjoy the landscape. The climb to the hill to take a closer look at Mr Monkey...that is another story!!!

Climbing up the temple

Look at the window pane.

Going up to the garden

Beautiful garden
Okay...let's climb some more! Fine. Fine. We cheated. We used the hanging bridge instead of climbing from the foothill.
Look at Mr Monkey peeking at you and grinning away, most probably!
Closer
C'mon...keep on moving!!!
Closer
Looking down from the hill. Coooooooooooooooool view.

Reached Mr Monkey. I was very amused to see people bought bananas to offer to the Monkey God. Just because he is a monkey....!!! I bet He likes burgers and pizza too!!!
Right beneath His feet.

That's us....all drenched but very much alive! Wished there was cold 100 Plus for sale up here. Geez... the things we do for a Monkey!!!!!!
Slow walk downhill now.

Stopped by the garden
