Prairie Village Art Show 2019

Welcome to Prairie Village Art Show 2019

We were there, at The Village, on 1 June 2019. Local artists were showcasing products like jewellery, drawings, art creations, photography, wood art, metal structures of animals, furniture....you name it, they have got it there!

The Village itself is a beautiful little place which consists of about 50 great restaurants and darling little boutiques in an outdoor setting. We visited The Better Cheddar which offers chocolates and all sorts of CHEESE. I did not want to leave that shop as I was happily tasting ALL the cheese!!!

We started our morning at Prairie Village in the beautiful sunshine and later that afternoon, it stormed and hailed!!!

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is just a darling little museum but filled with wonder, colors and passion. Admission is free. The environment is beautiful and staff are friendly.

I loved watching school children come in in groups to learn about art and the museum provides "teachers" to walk the children through its various galleries. I enjoyed following the children and listening to their views about the art that they liked and disliked. If only all children are exposed to art and encouraged to voice out their opinions. I wonder what plays through their little minds and how they view art at their age. The museum staff were patient and knowledgeable too. They make great teachers in their own engaging way. It was a wonderful experience to be among them, just to observe and learn.

I only took some favorites of mine whilst walking all over the museum, enjoying the art. There are many fascinating exhibits and this museum take the effort to change their exhibits every now and then. This encourages children and adults to visit the museum more often in a year.

A perfect way to spend a day!
