Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Fall Cavity Generating Station 1899

"Civil Engineer Charles Baker harnessed Snoqualmie Falls in 1893, seeing an opportunity in the 270 foot drop to use the energy of falling water to generate electricity. The world's first completely underground hydroelectric plant was built in solid rock, protecting it from the damp atmosphere. A shaft with penstock diverts water from above to the power plant at the base of the Falls. The plant was one of the first to deliver alternating current power over a long distance, demonstrating the suitability of this technology."

It was rainy when we visited the Falls. Parking was not free; it was USD5 for 3 hours, I think! The gift shop was closed too, which was disappointing. The Falls were magnificent though.

This is another film location of Twin Peaks and it is known as White Tail Falls in the show.

Twede's Cafe

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks is an American crime drama which started in 1990. It was then cancelled in 1991.
Then it was followed by a featured film in 1992.
After 25 years, Twin Peaks returned for a 3rd season in 2017.

Some famous locations of Twin Peaks were shot in this little town named North Bend, Washington.

The diner in the show named Double R Diner is really Twede's Cafe.

It was a good 20 minute wait to get a table in the diner so we walked around until they sent us a text.
It was a cold and rainy day when we were there.
This is next door to the diner
Across the road from the diner

The diner is right at the end of this row of shops

Coffee is good here!

Pho Thanks Brother

Pho Thanks Brother
1712 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma

A little cosy Vietnamese restaurant along the main street of Pacific Avenue. We had visited the Museum of Glass and crossed the Glass bridge onto Pacific Avennue. Just the place to satisfy our starving tummies. There were only 2 ladies running the restaurant while we were there and our waitress/chef was a really friendly lady.

Food was tasty and authentic.

Fresh spring rolls served with peanut sauce

Crab Rangoon ~ deep fried wontons with crab and cream cheese filling
