One-leaf Plant

Monophyllaea or the One-leaf plant can usually be found in caves. You can see them growing from limestone rocks, entrances of caves and forests. Quite a peculiar looking plant and they easily missed. One stalk one leaf, and they produce pretty little white flowers too. So, next time when you are visiting a cave, look out for these unique beauties.

I have visited a few caves but it was only yesterday that my sister-in-law told me to look closely at the leaves. She said, "Do you see only one leaf for every plant?" We were visiting the Kek Lok Tong in Ipoh.
