Kampung Baru - The historic village
First construction was in 1900. This village is a good 121 years old. The unique thing about this traditional Malay village is that it is located right in the heart of downtown Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by skyscrapers. Thank goodness for the Saloma bridge now that everyone can visit Kampung Baru easily.
I was most excited to visit this village. Not sure what to expect so decided to just go with the flow.
Villagers were friendly. Their food street was amazing. There were all sorts of kuihs and traditional Malay dishes.
Lovely to be able to see the Twin Towers everywhere in this village
