Singapore 2025

12 April 2025

This was the first memory when I was in the bus from the Checkpoint to Kranji. To my horror, I saw rubbish all along the way, on the grass. Whatever happened to a spick and span nation, or so I thought???

My last recollection of my last visit to Singapore was about 10 years ago. However, this was my first time crossing the Causeway by land. So everywhere on land was more visible LOL this time around.

And, when we reached Jurong East via mrt, walking around the paths, there were more rubbish!!!! Near a hospital too.
Good Lord.

Paris Baguette at JEM Mall

Ng Teng Fong Hospital

This caught my attention near the HDB flats. A Taoist funeral where there traditional Chinese funeral hearse. Wow! I have never seen these in my life before. Time for me to be busybody!!!

Lunch at Paradise Dynasty Westgate Mall

MRT to Chinatown

Jinrikisha Station 人力车站
1 Neil Road, Singapore

Built in 1903, in Edwardian style, by the Municipal Council as the main depot for rickshaws, a form of transportation imported from Japan via Shanghai in the 1880s.

Hokkien Temple

Painted by Sean Dunston outside a shophouse at 297 South Bridge Road (Chinatown Singapore), portrays a young samsui woman holding a cigarette in her hand.

Samsui women who wore their trademark red head gear were immigrants from China who worked as manual labourers at construction sites when Singapore was still a British colony in the early 20th century.

Tried the egg tarts here in this 1935 bakery.

Ri Ri Cha

It was 4+ PM already and I wanted to make it back to the checkpoint before rush hour. So this was the end of our walk. Off to get the bus!
