Mr. Hippo" is the English nickname for Freshippo (Hema Xiansheng 盒马生鲜), Alibaba Group's high-tech grocery chain headquartered in Shanghai.
I just called it AliBaba 🤣
Today only I found out we have one in Bandar Sri Damansara; opened in March 2025.
Curious (as usual), we visited. Oh myyyyy, it IS Ali Baba. Not as grand as in Shanghai but it is HUGE here!
I don’t think many are aware of the existence of Mr Hippo in KL, yet.
Rows and rows and rows of food, sauces, snacks, drinks, fresh produce, live seafood, etc… until I saw stars!!! 😂
So quiet too. Maybe it’s Friday. I wonder how it is like on weekends. Not sure how they are going to compete with our ever growing Jaya and Village Grocers!
