Restoran 168 Wantan Mee & Curry Mee

Jalan Brunei Utara, Pudu
Visited 168 last June 2023

Visited again last week 4 July 2024 and they have a new banner now! Really should visit more often as I love their noodles but Pudu is such a food haven; so many places to try.

Brought my foodie friend to try the food at 168. He liked it a lot.

No proper shop to eat and eat. Tables and chairs are places along the corridor.

Look at the Char Siew!!!

SS2 Durians July 2024

SS2 durians were trending, especially the RM5 ones! I had to see for myself. I knew the jam would be horrendous but oh well, what to do? So curious!

Traffic was bad around SS2 at about 1PM but I was lucky to have gotten a park righttttt in front of this durian tent.

The people… jeeeeez… they were all over the place. All choosing their durians. All very protective over their baskets of durians. It was a good time to people watch!!!

I believe this is one time I see that durians are so cheap. And it’s not only sold so abundantly in SS2. I observed around Batu Caves, Shah Alam, Semenyih… all selling in baskets at a cheap price. These are good quality durians, mind you.

These are the RM5 ones. Cute!

Bigger in size

Even the old tree durians are sold pretty reasonably

From Ipoh to KL

Shawn Ho & Carmen is a couple from Ipoh. I knew Ho from Ig as a foodie friend. When I had to go to Ipoh for a quick visit back in January, we managed to meet up for the first time. He was doing a video shoot at a curry noodle restaurant, and I decided to meet him there. Lucky for us, the boss treated us to a free lunch!

This trip to KL, Ho came with his wife. So I was happy to meet her. I offered to give him a tour around city centre and that extended to another day! Haha so happy that they were enjoying themselves getting to know more about KL and I made sure Ho had plenty of food to review.

This blog is about their tour around downtown KL. We met at Central Market on Friday 5 July and off we went!

Godzilla is gone! Wonder what’s next?

Love this shot from the corner of a street

Lai Foong Beef Noodles

Gotta pay this temple a visit as it is historical. Lucky, Ho & wife were open to visiting places that were not food related. I was just happy to show them around.

BookXcess at RexKL.
Carmen had visited this place before but not Ho. I was really happy to see excited in photography and video-ing this favorite bookstore of mine.

Warung Babi Guling Jenny

Funny story here. It was Ho & wife’s first time trying babi guling. Ho was busy videoing the place and the lady boss noticed him and invited him into the kitchen to video some more, ANDDDD treated us to a free plate of babi guling, AFTER we had our plate. So, we had to eat double!!!

Our FOC plate!

Asked Ho like a thousand times, sure he still could eat??? He said YES!
Lai Foong Lala Noodles was just a few doors away. Gotta taste this Michelin restaurant.

Ho’s bowl was Sang Har + Lala + Noodles

My bowl was only Lala and soup

After this I was like… No more eating!!! Let’s walk…
