Built in 1920 on top of Bius Hill, this was the residence of the State of Pahang back in the olden days. This was also the house where Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was born. He was Malaysia's 6th Prime Minister, from 2009 to 2018. His father Tun Abdul Razak was Malaysia's 2nd Prime Minister from 1970 to 1976.
Tun Abdul Razak was the Assistant State Secretary of Pahang in the 1950s and thereafter became Pahang's Chief Minister. He was the main person in the drafting of the Razak Report which formed the basis of the Malaysian education system.Tun Abdul Razak was also a key member of the 1956 mission to London to seek independence for Malaya from the British.
Today this 2-storey bungalow stands as a heritage museum, housing artifacts and historical records. It is beautifully maintained and it is a pleasure to get a chance to pay a visit.
