Sabah - Tamparuli - Jon Grapevines & Figs Garden

Jon Grapevines & Figs Garden, Tamparuli

Paid a visit to the garden before Chinese New Year and we managed to see the last batch of grapes. The peak season was last December so we were quite lucky.
We did not get a friendly welcome, in fact, the young man seemed quite reluctant to show us around until I asked if we could take some photos with the grapes. He said it is RM7 per person to enter the tent. I said no problem I will pay. Moreover we were the only group around. I didn't see us as a problem to him at all.
Then he slowly became friendly and shared information of the grapes and the other plants. $#%#

This was not the first grape farm we had visited in Malaysia but it is the first for my parents in Sabah. There are several grape farms in West Malaysia with free entrance.

Daun Bidara or Sidr leaves or Lote Leaves
Known in other countries as Indian Jujube or Chinese Apple

This is a type of plant that is synonymous in Islamic exorcism. These leaves are believed to be significant in treating spiritual illness such as emotional disturbances, curses, disturbances from Djinns and depression.

In addition, the fruits and leaves from this tree have their own benefits in healing. It is believed that the are good for skincare particularly for acne, wounds, and dry skin, and beneficial to healthcare too.
