At SS2, a highly recommended Penang kopitiam. Hmmmm… didn’t gel with me!
Firstly, the place at 9.30AM was dark / dim. Not welcoming on a Sunday morning.
Then the waiter who attended to us annoyed the hell out of me by talking non stop. His intentions were good, trying to promote his dishes but give customers some peace and quiet lah. How to make decision with you yapping in our ears???
Habis my mood.
Wok not wake up yet maybe. Char Koay Teow (with duck egg lehhhhh) was not good. Not even close to my favorite in O&S, Paramount.
Asam Laksa was good but what the hell is there a hard boiled egg in my PENANG asam laksa???
I tell you ah, at times, in my experience, it’s always better for me to go hunt kopitiams myself or go explore those that’s not “highly recommended”. As taste is very personal, what you like I may not like. But as a curious human being, I find myself still stupid enough to want to know for sure whether food is nice or not. Food may be good but customer service is another headache these days. Not only do we face foreigners serving in our kopitiams; many a times I could not understand what they are trying to say in their thick accent.
