Made a daring decision to stay a night just before the last weekend of Chinese New Year. Wanted to enjoy the exciting CNY vibes here. Plenty of tourists, goodness.
This morning, as we were having our breakfast, I saw boys carrying lion heads. My heart jumped!
Was I lucky enough to catch a lion dance performance?
Asked the lady boss of the kopitiam and she said yes, there’s a performance at 9.30AM. So early? Impossible.
After breakfast, I saw lions and groups of kids at the stage. Walked over and to my shock, there were 2 GIANT LION HEADS!
Talked to the person in charge and he said, waiting for VIP ro come by 10AM. Then a parade. Ahhhhhh, okay, that sounds great too.
Did some reading and found out that Himalaya Sports got an Asean Award for these 2 largest Lions in Asia.
This morning, these giants would be used to welcome the Chinese Tourism Minister to the parade along with many many colored lions.
These lions are called Malaysia-China Friendship Lions.

My first time watching so many lions together.
