My 2nd out-of-state drive just to catch a lion dance competition. This time, it was at Port Dickson. Lucky for me, this festival had other events going on so spending a whole day would be fun.
The organization this time was lousy. Guess what time the lion dance competition started finally???
1 freaking PM!!!
By that time, I was sun burnt, grumpy, impatient, and not a pleasant human at all.
I know by experience that lion dance competitions do not start on time: usually an hour later (which is already damn good!) than the stated time on the banner or ad. But this was 3 hours later! No respect for others’ time. I’m just grumping here cos nothing can be done. It was my choice to chase after it so I have to pay for whatever sacrifices that came with it. Oh well…
As much I love the lion dances, I struggle with posting about it.
I cannot read Chinese!!!
Most of these teams have Chinese names in FB so it’s a challenge for me if I forget to take a photo of their flag or tshirt. Well known teams are great as they have English names and I’m used to seeing them around.
The above team Cheung Keung KL was a team I spent a whole day searching for their name!!!! Just because I was so excited with their performance I had forgotten to photographtheir shirts. So it was searching other videos to identify their uniform, trying to search for their logos, their performance theme / story, the main lion dancers (whom I had photograph). Finally found them, I had to keep double checking that it’s them before posting.
I was so happy that I had found their name.
Getting ready!
