Shy May

All seasons are beautiful for the person who carries happiness within (Horace Friess)
Life is what we make it. Happiness is a choice as they say...and I truly believe that!

The month of May has arrived! It is Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere....two of my favourite seasons of the year. Spring where flowers start to bloom and life starts to be colourful; and Autumn for me is snow, presents, love, and romance!
I am featuring the shy, bashful, fun Mimosa Pudica this month; otherwise known as the Shy or Tickle Me Plant. In my country, this fun and sensitive plant is a wild one...very often ignored...but never by me!
I still remember the first time my friends showed me this plant; when I was about 10 yrs old. I watched to my amazement as the leaves shut themselves the second I touched them...and it still amazes me til this day. God has really creative ideas!!
Flowers are Heaven's masterpiece (Dorothy Parker)

Flower for thought...Did you know that in some countries, this plant is regarded as an aphrodisiac for frigid women? Hehe...that's where "fun" comes in *grinnnnnnnnn*
If you get simple beauty and naught else, you get about the best thing God invents (Robert Browning)
Each moment of the year has its own beauty (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Orchids for Easter

Orchids for Easter this 2012...
Representing love...luxury...beauty...and strength.

Love is the flower of life and blossoms unexpectedly...

Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. (Marie Lloyd)

I am home today...in the midst of being stressed with work and studies...but learning to take a moment to breathe and smile. My orchids made my day... they decided to be fully-bloomed this Easter...miraculous!

See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon, and the sun, how they move in silence....we need silence to be able to touch our souls (Mother Teresa)

Miracles...that's what Easter means to me...
Every hour in every day and night is an unspeakably perfect miracle...
Little miracles of life that takes my breathe away...and makes me thankful that I am alive to experience them...
You, my friends, are miracles in my life...
Most meaningful miracle for me is rejoicing with my family in this beautiful land of life!!!
Where there is love, there is God (Leo Tolstoy)

With our eyes we see the beauty of Easter as the earth awakens once more...
With our ears we hear the birds singing sweetly to tell us Spring is here...
With our hands we pick the golden daffodils and the fragrant orchids...
But only WITH OUR HEARTS can we feel the miracle of God's love...
And only with our soul can we make our pilgrimage to God and inherit His Easter gift of Eternal Life!

Camellia

These pretty Camellias were taken at my cousin's garden; in the coldest month of the winter season. It was amazing that the rest of the garden was brown in color and these Camellias were the only ones 'smiling' to my arrival in London!

Breath-taking! Loved to just watched these sweet flowers enjoying the gentle winter breeze whilst having my daily English breakfast of hot tea and crispy toast with homemade marmalade jam.

Reckoned as a love flower, the Camellia symbolizes longing and passion...

Gratitude and Perfection...that is what a Camellia stands for; its bloom which amidst its essence, dreams, passion and luster has delineated the very term "LOVE" over and over again.

Let the pink dreams of a Camellia weave the magic of love as it whispers into her soft ears "I will die for you..."

Far there in the inland valleys
Frost tells her tales
The tulip shakes their heads
While Camellia whispers
Her the age old tales
Of love and languishment...

Thoughts...
Feeling a little stressed at the moment and taking a moment to look at these Camellias...
They bring back nostalgic memories of not too long ago...of love and family...and the greatest of all...GRATITUDE for LIFE!

Gratitude is the memory of the heart (Jean Baptiste Massieu)

A Beautiful Beginning

"How dare you let January pass just like that, Jo-Ann?" grumped Master Rufus.

(I have always wanted a pet goose and if I had one, I would have named it Rufus!!!)
No point crying over split milk...a common saying but hard to do as our minds always beat us up more than anything or anyone does. I am not going to blame it on being busy and having no time...but I choose to say "Thank goodness it's February and not November already!!!"

This blog entry features a bunch of beautiful flowers and plants covered with ice, taken in Parc Guell, Barcelona, Spain.
I just came home after a crazy whirlwind 2 weeks in UK & Europe. Extremely thankful for a chance to see some beautiful parts of Europe. Happy to see frosted flowers again and being a kid again in the snow.

Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour. (John Boswell)

What a marvelous creation, mother earth...
Such calmness and happiness in my heart...
Colorful flowers in all seasons birth...
Love of beauty is taste...the creation of beauty is art

Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle...a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream. (Barbara Winkler)

I love the photo that I took below...it was a mistake actually (blurred) but somehow I fell in love with it. Perfect picture that symbolizes our future, don't you think so? I like to believe my future is colourful and bright and happy...and no matter how much hard work I have to put in now...I know a miracle will happen for me. And for you too...if you believe...:)

The future belongs to those who believes in the beauty of their dreams. (Eleanor Roosevelt)
