Yaya's Alpaca farm is about 45 minutes drive from Kansas City, in Cass County. It is a beautiful and happy place to visit. There's about 30 alpacas there to play with, photograph with and feed. They could eat alllllll day!
They also sell interesting products made from alpaca fleece.
Entrance is USD8 per person. You get a great briefing from Yaya. Free food for the alpacas. And, infinity photo-taking with all alpacas who are such adorable and cute animals.
I learnt:
1) A baby alpaca is called a Cria.
2) They do not like being pat on their heads. Necks and backs are fine.
3) They are domesticated animals. No wild alpacas.
4) They are raised for their soft wool.
5) They are from South America.
6) Alpacas spit at each other when they are competing for food.
7) They will not spit at people unless they are abused.
8) They eat non stop!
