Wintersweet is a fragrant winter flower tree. It is originally from China and it is called La Mei Hua among the locals. The flowers are used as potpourri and to scent linen. The essential oils are used in cosmetics and perfumes. They are also used to flavor tea as well as Chinese folk remedies for ailments from cough to measles.
