Pulau Ketam

Pulau Ketam
Last visit was March 2020.
It was nice to visit again today. Quite excited to see new changes.

So, it was at South Port Passenger Terminal to take the boat. Parked next to SPPT. Took the 8.30am Alibaba boat. Ticket was RM20 per person. Boat is at every hour until 5.30pm. Boat ride to Pulau Ketam took 40 minutes. Drizzling.

The biggest difference that I saw today was that the houses along the main street have mostly been renovated in a modern homestay. Kinda killed off the island’s vibes. But then, it’s good business for them.

There’s more than 1000 homes here on the island and I’m happy to see most of them have maintained their old wooden homes really well, with colorful coats of paint.
Always lovely to walk around the island. However, there’s an increased amound of electric bikes; a nuisance really if you opt to walk.

What’s going on here???
Let’s go kehpoh!

Oh, it’s some sort of cleansing ritual only for the women. They carry their offering, walk over a burning pot, walk over the bridge and a medium will bless them with a flag or cloth.

Hahaha gotta take a wefie with the famous Maybank!
