Borneo Native Festival 2024

This 3rd BNF was held at Central Market Kuala Lumpur from 24 to 26 May 2024.

The parade, however, was held along Jalan Bukit Bintang ~ started from Pavilion to Sungai Wang on Saturday 25 May at around 5.30PM. 

Thank God the parade escaped the rain but right afterwards, storm came and messed up the whole Petaling Jaya area!

Jennifer is my childhood friend. She was invited to lead this year’s BNF parade. At the hotel lobby.

Then I had to take a Grab to Bukit Bintang. Mad rush and of course, it was jammed up so bad. 

Jen’s High Priestess costume attracted a whole lot of attention haha everyone wanted a photo with her. It was non stop. I should have collected RM2 a photo; I would be rich!!!!!

Jen yelled out “Hi Jo” at this point ROFLOL!

Who’s the VVIP now??? Hehe!

No, they were not waving at God! They were waving at a drone that was hovering in the sky!!!

What a weird place to set up a makan place… in the midst of an industrial section where roads are bad and place is dirty. I guess that’s what makes it unique!

Big Mac Curry Mee

Curry was good but not superb. Just had to try having this giant bowl of Siham (cockles) piled high up. As much as I love cockles, these were too small to my liking. I prefer the bigger ones. And these are way too much for a cockle lover like myself  (I speak for myself only) because it’s too overwhelming. I always ask for extra siham when I order curry noodles but this is overdoing it. Plus, you have to keep asking for extra soup. Very ma fan. Half of this hill of cockles would be perfect ~ plenty already! 

And they cut the tofu pok into little pieces… bad!!! I like mine in half so they get to soak up the soup. Don’t like to eat things in little bitty pieces!!!!! Good thing they have some Chee Pei (pork skin) but in small thin slices. Haiyaaaaa!!!

I am unsure about the name of this stall but I pasted the name I saw from Google so as not to forget it. It is actually located along Jalan Emas, opposite to Daiden Equipment's big yellow building. If you drive along Jalan Emas, it is at a corner with a huge Sarawak Kolomee banner hanging on the front of the stall. You won't miss it!

Not original BUT very tasty. They added their own twist of flavor to it.

Wantan noodles with Char Siew and Wantan

The noodles are springy, just the ones in Hong Kong. VERY GOOD!

I wanted Siew Yoke but boss said, that only comes out from 10AM onwards. Goodness! I have to wait.
