Lawrence

The City of Lawrence is situated in the northeast of Kansas. It is a college town and is home to the University of Kansas (KU). Massachusetts Street is the main street in Lawrence and it is a lively street with great boutiques and cafes.

We enjoyed walking the street and enjoyed visiting some shops. Of course one can easily find Jayhawk souvenirs and clothing here.

We also had the privilege to lunch at the famous Burger Stand. Oh boy Oh boy....fantastic juicy burgers and deeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious fries with sauces of your own choice. We had Classic burgers and Duck Fat fries and Truffle fries....sooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooood!

Take all the sauce you desire!

The University of Kansas: A Walk To Remember!

The University of Kansas, Lawrence. Fondly known as KU to the locals. This is where my daughter Nicole goes to school for the past 4 years. I have had uncountable FaceTime videos with her throughout her study here and I have seen buildings that she walks to to attend her classes. I get to see the whole campus in person now.

This campus is gigantic. We needed 2 days to cover the whole campus by foot. However, today, we managed to visit the Student Union, a library, a museum and just enjoyed walking around the campus. It was a hot day but the the breeze was cool.

KU is the home of the Jayhawk. The name Jayhawk was coined in 1848; it was a combination of the Blue Jay and a sparrow hawk. The Jayhawk is a mythical creature.
