Eng Hin Bakery in Yong Peng is the oldest bakery in town. They specialize in Foochow biscuits. They have a unique setup as visitors can easily watch how they bake their biscuits and then shop for biscuits next door!
These are the Kompia doughs. They sure look like doughnuts!

Legend of Kompia
A Chinese General named Qi Jiguang was looking for ways to feed his soldiers in the Fujian province during battle. He created a recipe for kompia and came up with the idea of stringing the kompia for soldiers to wear around their necks to ease movement.
光饼 Kompia is a traditional Foochow biscuit made with flour, lard and sugar. Many called it the Foochow Bagel. The photo above with the sesame seeds on the kompia are plain ones. The photo below are kompia with peanuts.
