Salem, Oregon

Busick Court Restaurant, Salem

We drove to Salem from Portland on a Sunday. It was about an hour's drive. Reached Salem and hunted for a breakfast place. Found Busick to be cosy. It was loctaed downtown, in a classic brick building. The place was small but staff were friendly.

Eggs Benedict
Shared my Chicken Fried Steak with Nicole. They were so kind as to half everything for us on separate plates.
Salem Riverfront Park

Just a short walk from our breakfast place, crossed the road, and we found ourselves in city park; along the Willamette River. Although it was drizzling, families were out with children at the park. There's a huge indoor carousel which the kids were cheerful about. We took a quick walk around the park.

Decided to walk to the State Capitol!!!
What an interesting little town!

Salem's first United Methodist Church
Oregon State Capitol

Pretty long walk to the State Capitol building. Then it started to rain! Arrgghhhhh! So we quickly walk back but had to stop a few times as the rain was heavy. Too bad we didn't get a chance to enjoy the shops here.
