Christmas 2022
And… we are back! Last time we stayed was at Christmas 2018, before the madness started. This time, we had a suite all to ourselves in the main building. Fabulous!
We checked in at about 3PM on a rainy Friday afternoon. Decided to enjoy our room, hoping that the rain would stop. Nope! So we had dinner at the Smokehouse, took pics and explored the house more this time around.
I did however recognized that the Smokehouse’s Christmas decor this year wasn’t as grand as before. Had a chat with the staff after dinner and true enough, I was right. A large chunk of their Christmas decorations had been damaged over the years and they had not checked earlier therefore it was too late to order new ones.
I remembered when I first visited the Smokehouse during Christmas many years ago, it was a WOW feeling for me. No WOW feeling this year although the house still looks cosy with their minimum Christmas decor.

Breakfast was lovely. It was not a buffet ~ each person gets to order a set of your choice ~ but there’s free flow of coffee, fruit, oats, juice… more than enough for a hearty breakfast!
