Sungai Lembing-Kuantan FOODIE Haven

We spent our weekend in Kuantan and WOWEE....the food there is deeeeelicious! We have to go back as there are plenty of places we have yet to try. However, for these 2 days, we have stuffed our tummies from these wonderful yummy places. God bless the cooks!
Sungai Lembing Hawker Centre. We arrived at Sungai Lembing at about 10 AM so I guess it is considered late for small town folks. Thank goodness we still managed to taste wonderful TOMATO SAUCE noodles and Sungai Lembing's famous "natural spring water" noodles and tofu.

Tomato sauce noodles. Everything was just perfectly done. Very tasty.

Wantan noodles, also lovely. Loved the noodles.

Sungai Lembing's famous "natural spring water" tofu @ san sui taufu. Silky smooth. THE BEST I have ever tasted.

Kemaman Kopitiam at Lorong Tun Ismail, Kuantan. They have a little tuck shop inside the cafe, including good coffee, snacks, and freshly cooked food.
Iced coffee
Toasts with kaya and butter
Half boiled eggs
Squid cooked with petai @ stinky beans. These petai were THE BEST I have ever eaten. Crazy fresh. Crunchy. Tangy. Super addictive.

Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant at Jalan Kubang Buaya, Kuantan. All who visit Kuantan MUST taste the cooking in this restaurant. They are famous for their Beggar's chicken. Unfortunately, we did not get to try that dish as we went there for "dinner" at almost 9 PM. We were not hungry but I insisted we visit Alor Akar or I would never be at peace!

Tung Po Pork
Kailan with oyster sauce
Salted chicken
Teng Haw Kopitiam at Jalan Teluk Sisek, Kuantan. Famous for its curry noodles with Yong Tau Foo @ stuffed vegetables and tofu. The coffee shop is bigger than you think. Customers kept walking in to wait for a table so I understood the chaos. I was not happy that  we had to wait for a good 40 minutes for our noodles because they could not get their act together. I am pretty sure they are crowded on a daily basis; anyone would think they would have perfected their management of customers and food by now. OK... OK...curry noodles were good!

Hai Tian Restaurant at Jalan Berserah, Kuantan. Famous for its Coconut Prawn. Tasty and rich in flavor. It was raining when we arrived at the restaurant so I guessed it was great timing to have the coconut prawns.
Coconut prawns

Sweet potato leaves
Deep fried tofu with sambal belacan dipping sauce

That's it for this weekend! I have yet to taste more from these heavenly places. I still have not tried Sungai Lembing's soya bean drink, taufu fah, tofu cheesecake....etc. As for Kuantan, I still need to go back to Alor Akar for their Beggar's chicken, another stall famous for its roasted duck, and other yummy restaurants with their specialities. Need to go back! Need to go back!!!
