Shanghai - Chuansha Ancient City Wall

Chuansha Ancient City Wall

The city wall was built during the Ming Dynasty, 1554. It was built for the people of Chuansha to resist the Japanese invasion. The ancient wall is about 33 feet high. Parts of the wall remained to this day. A protective moat was built around the wall at about the same time.

The ancient town of Chuansha is known as the first town in Pudong, Shanghai. It is easy to find this ancient wall; a short walking distance from the metro station.
