The drive from Friday Harbor to Cattle Point was simply beautiful. We were heading to the Cattle Point Lighthouse. This scenery caught us by surprise.
Pickett Lane
Saw a baby fox sleeping so we carefully walked around it so as not to disturb it.
Cattle Point Lighthouse, 1935
Overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. This 34 foot octagonal tower served as an aid to ships sailing through the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
When we got down from the lighthouse, we saw a family of foxes running around. So I frozed to take some video clips. There were a row of professional photographers standing diagonally behind me ~ meaning, I was not blocking anyone's view. Still, one lady criticized me for being too near to the foxes. Said that I was "giving photographers a bad name"!
1 ~ I was not blocking anyone's view
2 ~ The foxes were still happily playing about; I did not chase them away. Plenty of opportunities for photography.
3 ~ A couple of cyclists stopped in front of the photographers to take photos too. I think anyone would if they saw wild foxes. Not an everyday affair.
So why was I giving them a bad name? I was minding my own business. I was NOT in anyone's way. I so happened to be nearer to the foxes than them. And I am the guilty one???
Of course, nobody criticized me in my face. They should! Had to do it behind my back. So there you shall be forever.
This is the nastiest incident I have faced during my visit to Washington.
