Swiftwater Cellars

Swiftwater Cellars, Che Elum

A little history:

In 1977, the Watts family started their agriculture business.

Later on in the years, large coal deposits were discovered in the Che Elum - Roslyn region. Coal mines were developed to fuel steam engines there. Immigrants from all over Europe started coming into that area to work the mines. Many of them brought over their own cultures such as winemaking to this community with wild huckleberries and blackberries around the Pacific Northwest region.

The Roslyn Coal Mine No. 9 opened in 1930. Swiftwater Cellars was built right on top of this historical coal mine. Its old entrance to the coal mine lies just off the cellars forecourt, overlooking a golf course. Swiftwater Cellars is a cozy place nestled at the foot of the Cascade Mountains.
