Pelindaba Lavender Farm, Friday Harbor
Pelindaba is a Zulu word which refers back to Stephen Robins' (owner - founder) South African roots ~ and it means Place of Great Gatherings. Started in 1998, today Pelindaba has branches all over the United States of America. It is a premier grower of lavender plants, distiller of lavender essential oils and handcrafter of lavender products.
We first visited the gift store located in downtown Friday Harbor. It was a lovely store and the lady was warm and friendly. They had a video showing a lavender farm and I had asked if there's a farm on the island. She said YES! She said, we should pay a visit although it was not lavender season yet. It was still lovely to see the lavender bushes about to bloom and to visit the store at the farm as well.
She was right! The farm and gift store were lovely.
Scoot Coupes ~ you can rent these and explore the island!
