Lake Crescent
624 feet deep
5127 acre lake
One of the iconic destinations of the Olympic National Park
A glacier lake; glaciers during the last ice age carved a deep valley in the Olympic Mountains, where the Indian Creek flowed. The lake was created when after a massive landslide dammed the creek.
Two unique trout species can only be found here and nowhere else in the world. They are the Beardsley Trout (subspecies of the rainbow trout) and the Crescenti Trout (subspecies of the cutthroat trout).
