July 23 to 26, 2022
We decided to do the Olympic Peninsula Loop.
First stop ~ Port Townsend
Beautiful town by the sea. Old architecture.
Port Wilson Lighthouse
Quite an interesting lighthouse by the sea.
Port Angeles
Lots of ducks around Port Angeles and it was nice to walk around town.
A 3 mile long, crescent shaped, sang pit. Visitors are allowed to drive on it to view Port Angeles from its angle. Pretty cool.
Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park
The drive up here was nice. Roads were good. We were at this car park by 9AM and the visitor center only opened at 10AM. Managed to hike a little but there was still so much snow on the higher trails. View was fantastic.
Lake Crescent
Beautiful lake by the highway. Lucky they made it easy for visitors to just stop and take photos.
Cape Flattery
This was a tough and last minute decision. Was trying to calculate time to see if we could make it to Cape Flattery, do the hike and come back down to Forks for dinner. We decided to do it. We made it! Only thing was it was foggy around Cape Flattery so scenery was unclear. Unlucky for us.
Rialto Beach
Rialto beach was a shock to me cos it appeared cold and there were driftwood everywhere. Gazillions of smooth pebbles everywhere on the beach. Tides were strong and angry.
Forks
Forks was dreamy. It was the land of Twilight Books after all.
La Push First Beach
Magnificent was my first thought!
Hall of Mosses ~ HOH Forest
I must have expected too much. Disappointing for me. Although this forest is huge and mature, the moss here was not much. It felt just like walking through a typical rainforest.
Kalaloch Tree of Life
It was at Kalaloch beach. Beach was hugeeeee. Walked down a flight of steps, turn right and there was the tree of life. I regretted for not climbing into the cave. I should have!
Last Stop ~ Ocean Shores
Ocean Shores was nothing much for us. We walked a long way from our cabin to the beach, thus, the jump for joy when we reached it!!!
