Sungai Besar

Sungai Besar

A town just about 30 mins from Sekinchan. Not as little as I thought. Hubs was suddenly unwell so it was a short visit; didn’t really get to explore much this time.

We wanted to eat at the famous Nam Tai restaurant but luck was not with us. It closed for the weekend due to personal reasons. So we simply googled for a food court to go to as I was starving!

These old shop houses caught my eye; they were just further to the left of the Nam Tai restaurant. Pretty cool that they still maintained these wooden shops which were sitting next to modern shops.

Just a simple Wanton mee to stop my starvation!

Never knew Nata de Coco was a locally produced from this area so dropped by this place to check it out. There was a tour bus with students there at that time so nobody bothered with us. The jelly was packed in only one packing, a big tub. Not practical for me. So we didn’t get any.

The store was not impressive either. Just the tubs of jelly, and some cookies and chocolate on the shelf. I guess visitors just come to buy the jelly and go off.

Dropped by this Laman Choco as well before we head off to Sekinchan. Was greeted by a friendly salesgirl who explained the process of chocolates done by them. Place was not impressive. Just a chocolate shop and kitchen at the back. They have a cafe on the side as well.
We bought the Sea Salt Dark Chocolate to try. Simple packing and chocolates cookies didn’t look that presentable but taste was pretty good!

That’s all from Sungai Besar for now!
