Old China Cafe

Old China Cafe

Jalan Balai Polis (opposite Sikh Temple)

A nostalgic place indeed in Colonial architecture and once you step inside the cafe, feels like you are back in the 1920s. Wooden  tables and chairs. There are still some old fashioned marble top tables there. A wooden bar and wooden wine cabinet is seen at the back of the cafe. Food served here today is of Peranakan descent. Simple presentation but they were flavorful.

Originally this was the old guild hall for Selangor and Federal Territory Laundry Association in the 1920s.

5 foot way in front of the cafe, in fact, for this row of shophouses

"Laundry Association"

Wooden swinging bar doors for their entrance!

Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang
Hokkien Mee
Saw a famous person walk in to have lunch with his family. Recognize him?

Upstairs

These must be original stained glass windows
The toilets are upstairs therefore one has to climb this so very steep staircase!
