Sequim

Sequim is the Lavender Capital of North America.

The town itself is filled with lavender bushes at every corner. Beautiful.

Purple flag are flown throughout town.

Sequim is well known for lavender farms; easily more than 2 dozen! The Sequim - Dungeness Valley makes this place ideal for growing lavender. There's a list and map for you to go through; easier for one to map their drive in visiting these farms. We only managed to visit 5 farms, which included one farm that operated as a homestay. We stayed a night at that farm.

The Lavender Festival in Sequim is usually on the 3rd week of July annually. However, lavender starts blooming around late June to early July so the farms welcome everyone then already.

When we visited Sequim on the weekend before the Lavender Festival, we also got to enjoy it's Farmers Market, which was held downtown. It was a fun place.
