Tanjung Pianding - Ban Pecah Beach

This is Ban Peach Beach at Tanjung Piandang.
Can you believe this area was just paddy fields in the 1960s?

According to a former Imam of the kampung, an orphan had cursed this area and changed this fertile land into a sea. Apparently, there were 400 hectares of fertile land for paddy. 2/3 of this land belonged to 2 siblings at that time. After older brother died, younger brother took over all the land. The orphan was the older brother's child and had to slave over the paddy fields. When the orphan found out the truth about the land, he cursed and sent the waves smashing the barriers of the paddy fields, turning the land into sea.

According to another villager, huge waves had caused erosion to the beach, flooding the paddy fields in the 1960s. His family actually lost 1.6 hectares of paddy fields.

This beach was reinforced with huge stones for a stretch of 4 kilometres
