Penang - Wat Chaiyamangalaram

Wat Chaiyamangalaram Thai Buddhist Temple in Georgetown, Penang
Located directly opposite to the Dhammikarama Burmese Temple.

This fascinating Siamese temple was built in 1845 and it houses a 33 meters (108 feet) gold plated Sleeping Buddha in the Main Shrine. It also has huge shimmering guardian statues and  smaller shrine in the grounds. It is one extravagant temple although it is the oldest Siamese temple in the country.
