Tanjung Piandang - Datuk Kong Chinese Temple

Datuk Kong Chinese Temple, Tanjung Piandang

Zhēnjūn Dàdì Gǔmiào is what is written on the grand entrance of this temple, which means Great Zhenjun Temple. Completed in 2015. With such a grand and magnificent temple, there is nothing much written about it.

Well, Datuk Kong or Datuk Keramat or Na Tuk Kong all refers to the same deity.
To Malaysians, Datuk Kong is a guardian spirit who cares for trees, hills, caves and riverbanks. I believe the worship of Datuk Kong is a fusion of Malaysian folk religion, Sufism and Chinese folk religion in South East Asia.

This temple is beautifully designed with a colorful garden

Dragon fountain

Inside of the temple is bright and cheery

Intricate murals

The unique thing about this temple is that all of the deities are male!
