Nanjing - Lao Men Dong

Lao Men Dong  老门东

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaally pretty place.
It was like the second you enter the arched entrance, you find yourself in another world. The unique thing is that this place is just beside the Ming Dynasty City Wall.

We stopped for ice-creams and there was a group of teenagers next to our table. One boy was quite curious about us when we were speaking English to each other. So he started asking questions in Chinese. I answered his questions in English, on purpose of course, and then I noticed the other boy understood me.
When I asked, "Are all of you university students?"

He answered promptly, "Yes"

I complimented him.

Meanwhile, this curious but very friendly boy, was trying very hard to guess where we were from!

Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall

One of the key cultural remains from the Ming Dynasty ( 1368 - 1644 ).
The original perimeter was 35km ( 22 miles ) but now, the remains is only about 21km ( 13 miles ).
This wall looks really beautiful in the evening when it is lighted up.
