Shanghai Starbucks Reserve Roastery

Starbucks Reserve Roastery
West Nanjing Road, Shanghai

For now, I believe this roastery is the 3rd largest in the world,
after Chicago (35,000 sq ft) and Tokyo (32,000 sq ft).

Shanghai's Roastery was open in December 2017 (30,000 sq ft) and has 2 floors.

There's 3 coffee bars, a tea bar, a cocktail bar, a Belgian chocolate bar named Neuhaus, and an Italian bakery named Princi in the Roastery.

There's a 2-storey bronze cask (the bank for post roasted coffee beans) in the middle of the cafe and we were able to see the roasting and packaging of coffee beans. Raw green beans get carried along tubes on the ceiling to the roaster and roasted beans get carried to another section for packaging and directly to the coffee bars.

The bronze cask is decorated with 1000 hand-engraved traditional Chinese stamps and they supposedly tell the story of the company and coffee.

Green Bean Station

Green beans are poured into the pipe lines to be transported for roasting.
