I saw this poster in the Kajang Heritage Centre and confirmed that this shop is still in operation.
This, here in the poster, is Mr. Siew Pak Chong. His father started this shop in 1907 and it still looks the same today. All time stood still!
Today's shop is run by 3rd generation of the Kwong family, Pak Chong's son.
Xin Kwong Sang Woh Enterprise or Kedai Runcit Kwong Sang Woh was just around the corner from the heritage centre. I don't know Kajang well, only know it for its satay, so this time I came to explore.
This shop looked so old, I could not help wondering if the biscuits were fresh.
THEY ARE FRESH!
And they let us sample the biscuits too, wow so generous and kind. There's about 4000 types of biscuits and snacks for you to choose here.
See that man in the red, on the left? I chatted with him a bit before he left. He is from Melaka but came here to buy biscuits then he was off to KL. He said this shop is so old already. Every time he comes here, he would take a picture of this shop and send it to his friends in Australia, just to let them know that this shop still exists! Guess his friends in Australia hailed from Kajang.
