Nehru Zoological Park

Nehru Zoological Park is located by the main road in the Bahadurpura area. It is known as the Hyderabad Zoo. It was named after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. It was opened to the public in 1963. There are over 140 species of animals in this 380 acres of land.

Galapagos tortoise

The world's largest tortoise. It could exceed 5 feet in length and about 550 pounds in weight. Loves to nap 16 hours a day. It could live to over 100 years old.

Indian giant squirrel

Also known as the Malabar giant squirrel, it is a large tree squirrel native to India.
Sacred Baboon

This is a Papio Hamadryas baboon from the African continent. It feeds on seeds, grass, wild roots and leaves.

Stump-tailed Macaque

Otherwise known as the Bear Macaque, this animal is covered with long shaggy fur and loves fruits.
