Artsy Tianzifang is a labyrinth of small lanes into traditional Shanghai. It is filled with designer shops, souvenir shops, cafes, bars, galleries and boutiques which has been amazingly transformed from old factories and residences. Tianzifang was originally constructed in the 1930s with Shikumen residential houses whereby its architecture style was a combination of Western and Chinese elements from the 1860s. Shikumen residences literally mean Stone Warehouse Gate due to its stone door frame and wooden doors.

Potato noodles? What's that?
Super yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
Noodles are chewy, kinda like a soft gummy but so tasty.

An interesting looking cake, right? Too pretty to eat!

I thought this was a flower shop. Nope. It is a wine shop. Chinese wine.

Lots of cheongsam or qipao boutiques in Tianzifang
This 'young' lady has such amazing embroidery skills. We saw her sewing from outside the window. We stood for quite a bit and decided to go in and have a chat with her.
There's Hubs showing off his cheongsam creations.
They were so encouraging and kind.
