Port Weld or Kuala Sepetang

In 1885, Port Weld, now Kuala Sepetang, was where the first railway began in Malaya. The railway tracks linked Taiping and Port Weld, to transport tin.

This is a little fishing village named Kuala Sepetang, although I still prefer the name Port Weld! We arrived just before noon to hunt for some famous chai kueh I read about. Found it. See the stall below under a red umbrella? That's it. They sell delicious homemade chai kueh. We bought some and walked across to a kopitiam to order coffee and some noodles. Oooh they have good coffee here!

Checked in to The Happy 8 Retreat before gallivanting all over the place.

Took a cruise for a closer look around this fishing village.

The famous scenic bridge which we visited later in the evening.
