Sky Ladder Pineapple Farm

"We have a pineapple farm? Here?"

I was pretty surprised as I just noticed the farm in Google. Was very excited to pay them a visit. It's in Kampung Baru Sri Parit, in a little town of Lukut.

I set the farm's name in Waze and we were on our way. Lukut is just about an hour's drive from Petaling Jaya. As we turned left from the main road towards the Kampung Baru Sri Parit's arch, I was enthusiastic as we were nearing the farm. It rained heavily earlier on and suddenly, the sky cleared. What a blessing for us.

The pathway towards the farm was moderately muddy. Puddles here and there but nothing deep. If you drive a 4WD, it would be a breeze for you. But I was driving my good ole Proton, so I went slowly, but surely. Unfortunately there were no sign boards to guide us, we just had to faithfully trust Waze!

The drive was probably about 3 km (10 minutes) on muddy road (for us, because of the rain) but the path in between oil palm trees was nicely paved. You would not get lost that easily!
 And....we are here!
We were greeted by the loudest quacks ever which immediately brought smiles to our faces!

Here was Mr Lee, explaining to Hubs about how a female lamb was stolen during MCO :(
Now the male lamb was a lone ranger. So saddddd. Hope they will find him a mate soon.

They have also started free-range chicken farming. Bringing in deers would be the next plan.

Later on, we got a short tour from Lai and Gordon, 2 very promising young boys who were not only helpful and friendly, but knowledgeable as well.

Went all the way to the end of this 5 acre land to see that they had planted Choy Sum @ Chinese flowering cabbage.

A Chengal-wood Minangkabau house just by the corn fields.

 The pineapple field!

Pineapples here are known as the Morris Pineapples. They are famous for being sweet, crunchy and fragrant. And oh my, fragrant they sure are!
No pesticides or herbicides are used here. All naturally grown.

It is interesting to know that you only get one pineapple per plant and it takes one year for a pineapple to grow before it can be harvested.

Pineapples are harvested daily here and fruits are sold at the farm. They also have bananas and coconuts.

It was awesome that Hubs got a chance to harvest a pineapple.

The pineapples up in the front, corn in the middle and vegetables at the end.

And... pineapples all the way downhill

Time for some refreshing pineapple juice. It would be nice in the near future that visitors can buy cold pineapple juices, together with other juices, AND ice-creams!
The pineapple juice was reeeeeally good. No preservatives, flavor or sugar have been added into this juice. It is all natural.

In fact, officers from the Pineapple Industry Board of Negeri Sembilan and Melaka conducted a Brix test on the sweetness of the pineapples here in the farm. The pineapples here scored 19/20 for good quality.
We bought a box of 6 bottles which cost RM30. They also sell a larger box of 12 bottles which cost RM60. I do believe these are on sale for the time being.

How often do you get the sky to be your backdrop anyways?

This pineapple field features sky ladders! Hence, its name.
The ladders look great in photos...as if you get to walk towards the sky.

The sky has so many different perspectives to everybody. To me, it is inspiring because it always  appears beautiful in its own way, be it sunny or laden with dark clouds. It reminds me to be optimistic as well because the sky is limitless when it comes to achieving goals and dreams.

This pineapple farm is already inspiring, beautiful and filled with optimism. They only just started the farm this year and already they have many innovative ideas for the community.  With a good team and hard work, this farm will inspire and teach many.

Gordon (red shirt), Ms. Una and Lai (blue shirt) is currently the young team who is helping in the farm.
Mr Lee heads the farm. He has partners to aid in this wonderful pineapple farming and production business.  Nevertheless, their main pineapple farm and production facilities are in Johor.

We had a great time with Mr Lee at the farm. His dedication and passion for this business is evident from the manner he explains and shares his knowledge. Enjoyed listening to his sharing about growing pineapples, the making of the juice and the plan for more animals. This farm is, without a doubt, in the best of hands.

Anyways, do look Sky Ladder Pineapple Farm up in Facebook.
