Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II.

This English royal residence stands on a ridge at the northeastern edge of the district of Windsor and Maidenhead in the county of Berkshire, England. The castle occupies 13 acres of land.

The Round Tower has been around since the 1100s when it was made of wood! William the Conqueror was responsible for the construction of the tower and the castle. The tower was then rebuilt by Henry II in 1170 with heath stone.

When Her Majesty is in residence, the Royal Standard will be flying. If the Union Jack is flying, she is not present. Alright Her Majesty is in, let's have tea with her!!!

St. George's Chapel

A royal mausoleum. However, it is also a popular venue for royal weddings and royal baptisms. It is a 15th century Perpendicular Gothic styled church. It is a working church and is open to the public.

St. George's Chapel is also the home of The Order of the Garter. Founded in 1348 by King Edward III, the Order of the Garter was inspired by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Queen Elizabeth currently serves as the Sovereign of the Garter and is responsible for appointing new Knights to Order. The Order of the Garter takes places annually in June in this chapel.
