The road leading to the Panda base is all about the Panda!
I'm very impressed with the lamp posts!
Grand Entrance to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
We had a stroke of luck that gloomy morning. Somehow, our driver managed to get us VIP treatment; a guard let us through without queueing up, after getting all the safety procedures done. Yay!
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
This park covers about 67 hectares; with labs, research centers, souvenir shops, cafes, snack stalls, breeding centers, medical station, and homes for the pandas.
There is a part where pandas are placed in glass covered booths. This was my frustrating part of the visit as people were so excited about seeing the pandas, they tend to forget there are other humans beside them. Let's just say, behaviors were not cordial at all. Sometimes, I do wonder who is the actual tourist?!!!
When I saw the glass panels, and the impatient humans, I moved away as fast as I could as it was difficult to photograph the pandas anyways. Thank goodness, there are other areas where you can view the pandas in their natural environment. Easier to photograph and there's more space to move around.
The walkways are beautiful and clean; covered with bamboo trees on both sides.
Panda's poop!
They sure have a funny way of snoozing!
See a Panda up on a tree branch?
Honestly, if I saw so many noisy humans and screaming kids, I would have climbed up the tree too!
Panda cafe
Plenty of toys being sold outside the park for a cheaper price.
