"Huang Daopo (1245 - 1307) was an outstanding innovator of cotton textile handicraft in ancient China. She taught the cotton textile techniques she had learned for over 30 years to people in her hometown. By combining with the textile technologies in Shanghai and regions south of the Yangtze River, she created a brand new set of tools for ginning, fluffing, spinning and weaving, which had significantly improved the manufacturing efficiency back then, and gave birth to the renowned Wunijing quilt."
