Zoo Negara Malaysia

Redeemed a free birthday ticket into Zoo Negara Malaysia!

I had never been interested in freebies; always thought that it was a hassle to get a free ticket. I was wrong. Zoo Negara has one hell of a system. Getting tickets online was easy. Redeeming a free ticket was easy peasy too!
All I had to do was to fill in a form (just my name, ic number and phone number) and I got my free ticket! That’s all.

I loved my tag; it stated “FOC Birthday”

Saw the Hippos first. Waited for them to go into the water but they were more interested in getting food.

Visited the famous Oyen and the cute Capybaras.

I keep wondering why Oyen has become this famous. He is just an ordinary orange cat. No special features. Not friendly at all. In fact, has an air of arrogance, as if he was king of this section.

I saw him bully the Capybaras when one sniffed at him!

The story was that someone left him at the zoo during covid times so he chose to live with the Capybaras all these 3 years.  Because his story was published, the zoo had been having extra visitors every weekend.

The Capybaras are such cute animals. Looked so timid. How could they be rodents? Especially the babies. I wondered how they sound. Do they even get angry?

Panda Conservatory

Had to come visit the Pandas. This is MaMa Liang Liang, snoring!

Her baby boy and baby girl will be returning to China soon.

The Pandas’ (parents) contract ends in 2024.

This is Papa

Malayan Tapir

My first time seeing this!

The male tapir has a PREHENSILE PENIS; also known as the Gripping Penis. It acts like a monkey’s tail, able to hold on and grip tightly.

Penguin

Went back to see the Pandas the second time. Wanted to catch the babies. Managed to see Yi Yi, a 5 year old baby girl who was born in Malaysia.

Female Tapirs in another enclosure

Great Hornbill

Wasps

Storks

Peekaboo Monkey!
